Location & Lodging
The event will take place at the historic Barn Theater at CCBC-Catonsville Hotels: Below are the two hotels that are closest to the event (less than 2.5 miles) and are reasonably priced. We have an arrangement with both of these hotels, so please mention the Baltimore Tango Festival when making a reservation. Since there is no public transportation, we recommend that you rent a car if you are planning to arrive by air. The hotels are located about 11 miles from the BWI airport and an Amtrak station.
Comfort Inn (MD171)
Days Inn Getting around:
Maps Dining in the nearby town of Catonsville requires a car but can be really great with amazing crabcakes, burgers and fab tavern food at Jennings, 808 Frederick Rd., Catonsville MD 21228, 410-744-3824, tell Peggy Marty sent you. Nothing healthy. It's very busy Friday and Saturday night, call Peggy for a reservation, we'll try to get a big 7:30 table both nights.
Steamed crabs you crack open messily and eat outside is at Ship's Cafe, a plan pub,
nothing else is good but the bar side is cute, (410) 744-1838 BUT even if you wash, you'll smell like
crabs so we advise crabcakes at Jennings and Catonsville Gourmet.
A new serious high-end seafooder is Catonsville Gourmet with good crabcakes,
grilled fish and they cook healthy. No liquor license.
For a ton of pasta or sub or stromboli, Chef Paolino, nothing healthy.
A cute little coffee shop with muffins and pastries they make is Coffee Junction, (410) 719-7717 Simple low-expectation breakfast is at Friendly's 746 Frederick Rd, Catonsville, MD - (410) 869-3620
Over by the W. Nursery Rd.airport hotel strip, Bob Evans does better breakfast if you're near it
But for a real diner breakfast 24 hours, there's only the Double T, nearest location at the
intersection of Rt 40 and I-695 but do not stay at the cheap hotels there.
There's also a Giant supermarket and other retail from Kinko's to Walfart to Hanh Ah Reum Asian supermarket and Wong Gai Bi if you want Korean grill
The only close sandwich delivery is Tiffany, low-low-low expectations... |
